Delft
The birth place of one of the most renowned Dutch painters of the Golden Ages – Johannes Vermeer – also a place of inspiration for most of his artworks.The town’s association with the House of Orange started when William of Orange (Willem van Oranje) took up residence in 1572. The orange colour is now associated as the colour of the modern day Netherlands.Delft is mainly known for its historic town center with canals and for Delftware (Delft blue pottery).Find more information here.
